Why choose this resort?
Following a huge investment over recent years Bad Kleinkirchheim and St Oswald provide both great snowmaking and lift facilities. The efficient network of lifts combined with 103kms of piste allows school ski groups to easily access a range of slopes particularly suited for intermediate to advanced skiers. Covering 97% of skiable terrain, the resort’s snowmaking capabilities provide school groups with plenty of options late in the season. Forming part of the Gurktal Alps, Bad Kleinkirchheim is not only known for being the home of downhill legend Franz Klammer, but also for its 45km Mölltaler Glacier and wide tree-lined runs. Groups can enjoy accommodation on Lake Millstatt, providing easy access to the ski area and the resort’s thermal swimming pool located in the centre of Bad Kleinkirchheim.
On the slopes
The Carinthia area always provides good conditions and, with predominantly north-facing slopes across Bad Kleinkirchheim, Party Leaders can be sure of good snow throughout the season. 25 lifts transport schools across the resort and beginners will soon be aiming higher once they get to grips with the basics on the nursery slopes of St Oswald. There is plenty to keep intermediates happy with over 75kms of red runs to choose from before joining the advanced skiers on the further 8kms of black slopes. The terrain park offers a chance of scenery for those looking to try out some jumps while the many traditional mountain huts dotted across the slopes provide the perfect rest stops for those snow-covered views across the resort.
