Why choose this resort?
Located at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, Grossglockner, Heiligenblut offers SkiBound groups doorstep and high-altitude skiing. With many of the snow-capped peaks extending beyond the 3,000m mark, skiing in the shadow of “Glockner” is a memorable experience for even the most seasoned of skiers. Thanks to its altitude, the slopes have good snow coverage and are supported by 50 snow cannons to ensure skiers can enjoy the two interlinked mountains of Heiligenblut late into the season. School ski trips to Grossglockner Heiligenblut will enjoy the stunning location of Heiligenblut in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, providing groups with a truly picturesque resort in the Eastern Alps and an ideal option if you are travelling into April.
On the slopes
The well-groomed slopes present not only suitable conditions for skiers but also for snowboarders. Beginners will be able to master their snowplough turns on the nursery slopes found a snowball’s throw away from the accommodation allowing those new to skiing to maximise their time locked into their skis. Groups will soon progress from the village to the mountains with a number of blue runs providing the perfect base to improve their ski skills. Over 40kms of red runs await the intermediates in your group with a huge array of developing and challenging runs, while the more experienced skiers will also be faced with a choice of testing runs. Combine this all with uncrowded slopes and an efficient lift system and you’ll soon realise why Heiligenblut is a great choice for all abilities and those seeking late-season skiing.
