Why choose this resort?
Saalbach stands as one of Austria’s premier ski resorts and with perfection comes well-groomed slopes across an all-encompassing piste network covering both Saalbach and Hinterglemm. Both villages are bursting with traditional character and are known for their lively après-ski options. A ski area of 200km extending across Leogang offers up a selection of great runs and a comprehensive lift system. Time can be maximised on the slopes thanks to the twin resorts’ wide-ranging infrastructure providing excellent links.
On the slopes
Groups on a school ski trip to Saalbach can enjoy a number of slopes suited to beginners looking to gain confidence, including nursery slopes located down in the village by the ski school meeting points. Beginners can start the week in the less crowded area of Leogang connected to Saalbach. The intermediates in your group will head further up the mountain where a ski circus of wide-open blues and challenging reds will have the most seasoned skiers perfecting their parallel turns. The black runs from the top of the Schattberg and Zwölfer mountains give advanced skiers some testing terrain before venturing to the powder stashes on the north side of the valley. The internationally renowned snowboard parks will keep the keenest of freestyle boarders happy, while the mogul runs available to the more experienced skiers within your group will keep the knees shaking all the way back to the hotel.
