Why choose this resort?
Serre Chevalier encompasses over a dozen villages and hamlets dotted along the Guisane Valley. Offering over 250kms of skiable piste, anyone from beginners to experts will appreciate the vast array of terrain set amongst the pine-pitted scenery. Serre Chevalier remains one of Europe’s biggest resorts and a firm favourite with schools located just 90 minutes from Grenoble airport.
On the slopes
With wondrously wide nursery slopes and excellent ski schools, Serre Chevalier offers groups the perfect introduction to winter sports within a truly picturesque location. The new Pontillas gondola lift in Villeneuve is 10 minutes walk from the Clubhotel Frejus or a 2-minute ride via a free navette service.
Winter 2023/24 saw the development of the beginners’ area on the Méa sector at the top of the Pontillas gondola. There is now a 150-meter-long covered magic carpet lift on the Méa plateau. The development of this new beginners’ area at altitude is part of a strategy to adapt to climate change that guarantees good conditions for learning to ski for years to come, while reducing the use of artificial snow.
Close to the hotel, two large open beginner areas offer excellent conditions for practice without getting lost. As you progress and explore the mountainside, you’ll find some excellent intermediate runs above the tree line. For the more advanced skiers, Chantemerle offers Olympic black runs while Monétier-Les-Bains also offers testing terrain.
Whether you ski or board, the Alpage sector offers up the chance to get big air with natural half-pipes and all the lumps and bumps that you’d expect from a snowpark. This is top-class skiing with lots of choices for all levels of skiers in very traditional alpine settings.
