Why choose this resort?
Sestriere was built in 1934 by the owners of the Fiat car company and is the first purpose-built resort in Italy. Standing as one of Italy’s highest resorts at 2,035 metres and with lifts up to 2,823 metres, Sestriere enjoys an excellent snow record. Host to most of the men’s downhill events during the 2006 Turin Olympics, Sestriere is internationally recognised for its fantastic skiing and magnificent scenery.
On the slopes
Beginner runs fan out above the ski school meeting point in the resort centre. Students then progress onto the intermediate-friendly areas of Banchetta and Sises. Groups on a school ski trip to Sestriere will enjoy a huge variety of runs for all abilities and it is easy to get over to the wooded trails above neighbouring Sauze D’Oulx.
